The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 and those that blow gently, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 then he mustered 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
