The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
