The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
