Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

By the white forenoon 1 And by the night when it is still (or darkens); 2 Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]. 3 What is to come is better for you than what has gone before; 4 For your Lord will certainly give you, and you will be content. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and take care of you? 6 Did He not find thee wandering and direct (thee)? 7 Did He not find thee destitute and enrich (thee)? 8 Therefore, the orphan shalt thou never wrong, 9 Therefor the beggar drive not away, 10 And as to the favour of thine Lord, discourse thou thereof. 11

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
