and We saved the Children of Israel from a humiliating punishment 30 From Fir'aun (Pharaoh); Verily! He was arrogant and was of the Musrifun (those who transgress beyond bound in spending and other things and commit great sins). 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge above the nations (of their time). 32 and bestowed upon them the Signs wherein lay an evident test for them. 33 These people say, 34 “There is nothing except our dying just once, and we will not be raised.” 35 Bring then our fathers if ye say so. 36 Are they better, or the folk of Tubb'a and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 It was not in idle sport that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,- 40 A day when friend can in naught avail friend, nor can they be helped, 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42
