Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
