So did you observe him who turned away? 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 while you make merry? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
