The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He hath created man. 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
