Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 storming tempestuously 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 separating one from another, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 For the living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 So like golden camels." 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
