The men of the Thicket cried lies to the Envoys 176 When Shu'eyb said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 177 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 178 So fear God and follow me. 179 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure and do not diminish the goods of people, 181 weigh with an even balance 182 and do not deprive people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not act wickedly on earth by spreading corruption, 183 And keep your duty unto Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old. 184 They said: "Surely you are deluded. 185 You are nothing but a man like us, and we think you are a liar. 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 (Shu'aib) said: "My Lord knows well what you are doing." 188 But they belied him, so the torment of the day of shadow (a gloomy cloud) seized them, indeed that was the torment of a Great Day. 189 Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers. 190 Yet verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 191
