۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 And halt them so that they may be questioned. 24 "How is it that [now] you cannot succour one another?" 25 Indeed, today they are surrendering themselves completely.” 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 They will say: "It was ye who used to come to us from the right hand (of power and authority)!" 28 They will say: nay! ye yourselves were not believers. 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 The statement of Our Lord is realized against us, and we are tasting it, 31 We seduced you astray; verily we were ourselves the seduced ones. 32 On that Day, they will all share the chastisement. 33 As such We shall deal with the evildoers. 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment: 38 And be rewarded but only for what you had done, 39 Save the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 40 will have their determined sustenance 41 fruits. And they are receivers of generosity 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 Facing one another on thrones. 44 A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, 45 White and delicious to the drinkers; 46 wherein no sickness is, neither intoxication; 47 And with them maidens of modest look and large lustrous eyes, 48 As if they were eggs carefully protected. 49 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 50 One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth), 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 Do you want to see him?' " 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He said, “By Allah, you had nearly ruined me!” 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought forth (to Hell)." 57 Are we then not to die 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 Lo! this is the supreme triumph. 60 For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive. 61 Is that (Paradise) better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum (a horrible tree in Hell)? 62 We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers. 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 Then on the top of that they will be given boiling water to drink so that it becomes a mixture (of boiling water and Zaqqum in their bellies). 67 then surely they shall return to Hell. 68 They had found their fathers astray, 69 So they (too) were rushed down on their footsteps! 70 Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 Then see how was the end of those warned, 73 Save the bondmen of Allah sincere. 74
