Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion, and He is Able to do all things. 1 Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving; 2 [And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks? 3 Then look again and again. Your gaze will come back to you confused and exhausted. 4 And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire. 5 And for those who disbelieved in their Lord is the punishment of Hell, and wretched is the destination. 6 When they are cast into it they shall hear it sighing, while it boils 7 As it would burst with rage. Whenever a (fresh) host is flung therein the wardens thereof ask them: Came there unto you no warner? 8 They will say, "Of course, a warner did come to us, but we belied him and we said, 'God has revealed nothing; you are in gross error.'" 9 They will further say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!" 10 And they will admit their sin, so [it is] alienation for the companions of the Blaze. 11 Surely forgiveness and a mighty reward await those who fear Allah without seeing Him. 12 And conceal your word or manifest it; surely He is Cognizant of what is in the hearts. 13 Does He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted? 14
