Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “I have received the divine revelation that some jinns attentively listened to my recitation, so they said, ‘We have heard a unique Qur’an.’ 1 guiding to rectitude. We believe in it, and we will not associate with our Lord anyone. 2 for [we know] that sublimely exalted is our Sustainer's majesty: no consort has He ever taken unto Himself, nor a son! 3 "'And [now we know] that the foolish among us were wont to say outrageous things about God, 4 And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie. 5 And that persons from among men used to seek refuge with persons from among jinn, so they increased them in wrongdoing: 6 ‘And that they assumed, like you humans assume, that Allah would not send any Noble Messenger.’ 7 'And we pried into the secrets of heaven; but we found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. 8 There, we would sit to eavesdrop, but now an eavesdropper finds a flame in wait for him. 9 And we know not whether harm is boded unto all who are in the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth guidance for them. 10 As for us, some of us are righteous and others are not. We have all followed different ways. 11 Indeed, we thought that we should never be able to frustrate God in the earth, neither be able to frustrate Him by flight. 12 'And as for us, since we have listened to the Guidance, we have accepted it: and any who believes in his Lord has no fear, either of a short (account) or of any injustice. 13 And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. 14 However, the deviators from the Truth will be the fuel for hell". 15 (And Allah's Message is): "If they (the Pagans) had (only) remained on the (right) Way, We should certainly have bestowed on them Rain in abundance. 16 so that We may test them by it -- whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord shall be sternly punished. 17 And [know] that all worship is due to God [alone]: hence, do not invoke anyone side by side with God! 18 When the servant of God stood calling on Him, they were wellnigh upon him in swarms. 19
