The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment, 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
