The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 And Him who created the male and female, 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote); 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 The one who denied and turned away. 16 But the God-fearing shall be kept away from it, 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
