In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord who created - 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Recite: And thy Lord is the Most Generous, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.). 6 In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient. 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 A servant when he prays? 10 What will happen if the praying person is rightly guided 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
