And if they deny you, [O Muhammad], then say, "For me are my deeds, and for you are your deeds. You are disassociated from what I do, and I am disassociated from what you do." 41 And there are among them such as [pretend to] listen to thee: but canst thou cause the deaf to hearken even though they will not use their reason? 42 And among them is one who gazes at you; so will you guide the blind* even if they cannot perceive? (* Deaf or blind to guidance.) 43 Surely God does not wrong anyone; they wrong themselves. 44 And on the day when He will gather them as though they had not stayed but an hour of the day, they will know each other. They will perish indeed who called the meeting with Allah to be a lie, and they are not followers of the right direction. 45 Whether We show thee (realised in thy life-time) some part of what We promise them,- or We take thy soul (to Our Mercy) (Before that),- in any case, to Us is their return: ultimately Allah is witness, to all that they do. 46 For every people there is an apostle; and when their apostle is come the matter is decided between them equitably, and no one is wronged. 47 And they say, "When is [the fulfillment of] this promise, if you should be truthful?" 48 (Muhammad), tell them, "I have no control over my suffering or benefits unless God wills. Every nation is destined to live for an appointed time. They can neither delay that time nor can they cause it to come sooner. 49 Say: 'Have you considered? Should His punishment come upon you by night or by day, what (part) of it would the sinners try to hasten' 50 Will you, then, believe in it [only] after it has come to pass - [on the Day when you will be asked, 'Do you believe in it] now, after having [contemptuously] called for its speedy advent?' 51 Then it will be said to them who wronged themselves: "Taste you the everlasting torment! Are you recompensed (aught) save what you used to earn?" 52 They ask you, "Is that (punishment) true?" Tell them, "It certainly is. I swear by my Lord. You can not escape from (God's retribution)". 53
