The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 “And leave the wives your Lord has created for you? In fact you are people who exceed the limits.” 166 They said, "Lot, if you do not give up preaching, you will certainly be expelled (from this town)". 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175
