۞ When the son of Mary was mentioned as an example, you people cried out in protest, saying, 57 And say: Are our gods better, or is he? They raise not the objection save for argument. Nay! but they are a contentious folk. 58 He is only a servant We blessed, and We made him to be an example to the Children of Israel. 59 If We had so willed We could have made some of you into angels to become your successors on earth. 60 And lo! verily there is knowledge of the Hour. So doubt ye not concerning it, but follow Me. This is the right path. 61 And do not ever let the devil stop you; he is indeed your open enemy. 62 NOW WHEN Jesus came [to his people] with all evidence of the truth, he said: "I have now come unto you with wisdom, and to make clear unto you some of that on which you are at variance: hence, be conscious of God, and pay heed unto me. 63 Verily God is my Lord and your Lord; so worship Him. This is the straight path." 64 But the factions differed among themselves. Woe alas to the sinners for the torment of the grievous Day! 65 Do they wait for aught but the hour, that it should come! upon them all of a sudden while they do not perceive? 66 Friends on that day will be foes, one to another,- except the Righteous. 67
