The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
