The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
