The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe to the diminishers, 1 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, demand full measure, 2 But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. 3 Do they not think that they will be called to account?- 4 for a great Day, 5 a Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 And what will make you know what the Sijjin is? 8 The record is a sealed text. 9 Woe on that Day unto the beliers 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 Yet none gives the lie to it except the transgressor immersed in sin; 12 When Our Signs are rehearsed to him, he says, "Tales of the ancients!" 13 No. In fact what they have been doing has rusted their hearts. 14 No indeed! On that Day they will be screened off from seeing their Lord, 15 Then lo! they verily will burn in hell, 16 Then it shall be said to them, 'This is that you cried lies to.' 17 Nay! Verily, the Record (writing of the deeds) of Al-Abrar (the pious who fear Allah and avoid evil), is (preserved) in 'Illiyyun. 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 A book inscribed, 20 Those who are drawn near (to Allah) shall witness it. 21 Verily the pious will be in heaven, 22 On thrones, they shall gaze; 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be served the choicest wine, sealed 25 With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, -- 26 and its mixture is Tasneem, 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 Indeed the guilty used to laugh at the believers. 29 And wink one to another when they passed them; 30 And when they returned to their own folk, they returned jesting; 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers 34 upon couches gazing. 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
