The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
