Indeed this is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe; 192 the Faithful Spirit has brought it down 193 Upon your heart, for you to convey warning. 194 In eloquent Arabic. 195 (a revelation embodied) in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a Sign to them that the Learned of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 If We had sent it down on a barbarian 198 who would have read it to them, they (pagans) would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Just think: If We let them enjoy (the good things of life) for a few years more, 205 and then what they were promised comes to them, 206 That which they were made to enjoy shall not avail them? 207 Never have We destroyed a town without sending down messengers to warn it, 208 To remind, and We are never unjust. 209 The satans have not revealed the Quran; 210 It would neither suit them nor would they be able (to produce it). 211 Verily far from hearing are they removed. 212 So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty. 213 And warn your tribe (O Muhammad SAW) of near kindred. 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 Then if they disobey you say to them: "I am quit of what you do." 216 Have trust in the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up 218 And your turning over and over among those who prostrate themselves before Allah. 219 He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you (of him) upon whom the Shaitans descend? 221 They descend upon every sinful liar. 222 The satans try to listen to the heavens but many of them are liars. 223 And the poets -- the perverse follow them; 224 Observest thou not, that they wander about every vale. 225 And that they say what they do not do? - 226 [Most of them are of this kind] save those who have attained to faith, and do righteous deeds, and remember God unceasingly, and defend themselves [only] after having been wronged, and [trust in God's promise that] those who are bent on wrongdoing will in time come to know how evil a turn their destinies are bound to take! 227
