1/2 Hizb 45

۞ (It will be said to the angels): "Assemble those who did wrong, together with their companions (from the devils) and what they used to worship. 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 And halt them, to be questioned: 24 "Why help you not one another?" 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side. 28 They will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were not believers. 29 we had no authority over you; no, you were an insolent people. 30 "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins). 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 This is how We deal with the guilty. 34 They were the ones, who on being told, "God is only One," become puffed-up with pride 35 And they used to say, “Shall we forsake our Gods upon the sayings of a mad poet?” 36 Nay, but he [whom you call a mad poet] has brought the truth; and he confirms the truth of [what the earlier of God's] message-bearers [have taught]. 37 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment: 38 Ye are requited naught save what ye did - 39 But the chosen servants of God; 40 For them is the sustenance known to Us. 41 as the fruits [of their life on earth]; and honoured shall they be 42 in the Gardens of Bliss. 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 Round them will be passed a cup of pure wine; 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 but not harmful or intoxicating. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 As if they were eggs carefully protected. 49 Then they will advance unto each other, mutually questioning. 50 One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth), 51 who would say, "Are you a confirmer? 52 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be requited?" 53 He will say: -- Do you wish to know where he is now?' 54 and then he looks and sees that [companion of his] in the midst of the blazing fire, 55 He said: "By Allah! thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition! 56 But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned. 57 Are we then not to die 58 except for our first death? Are we not going to be punished? 59 Truly, this is a great victory!" 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is such [a paradise] the better welcome - or the [hellish] tree of deadly fruit? 62 Which We have reserved as punishment for evil-doers? 63 It is a tree that comes forth in the root of Hell; 64 its spathes are like the heads of satans 65 Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 On top of it they shall have a brew of boiling water, 67 then their return is to Hell. 68 Surely they found their fathers going astray, 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 though We had sent among them warners. 72 Therefore see what sort of fate befell those who were warned! 73 EXCEPT for God's true servants, [most people are apt to go astray.] 74
