The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
