Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 for an appointed time? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
