And most surely this is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 192 trustworthy divine inspiration has alighted with it from on high 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayest be of the warners, 194 In the perspicuous Arabic tongue. 195 Truly it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 Had We revealed it to any of the non-Arabs, 198 and had he recited it unto them [in his own tongue,] they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 They will not believe it until they behold the painful punishment. 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are not aware, 202 Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved? 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 Think! If We let them enjoy life for some years, 205 And then there cometh unto them that which they had been promised. 206 That which they were made to enjoy shall not avail them? 207 We never destroyed a village that did not have warners 208 and reminded: for, never do We wrong [anyone]. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 They are unworthy of it, nor can they do it. 211 Most surely they are far removed from the hearing of it. 212 Hence, [O man,] do not invoke any other deity side by side with God, lest thou find thyself among those who are made to suffer [on Judgment Day]. 213 Warn your tribe and your near kinsmen. 214 and spread the wings of thy tenderness over all of the believers who may follow thee; 215 And if they disobey thee, say thou: verily I am quit of that which ye work. 216 and place thy trust in the Almighty, the Dispenser of Grace, 217 Who watches you when you get up, 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 for, verily, He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing! 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend on every great accuser, extreme sinner. (The magicians) 222 Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. 223 Only the erring people follow the poets. 224 Did you not see that they keep wandering in every valley? 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 Not so the true believers who do good works and remember God with fervour and defend themselves only after they are wronged. The wrongdoers will soon know how evil a turn their affairs will take. 227
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
