Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

HaMeem. 1 A revelation from [God], the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful -- 2 A Book whereof the Verses are explained in detail; A Quran in Arabic for people who know. 3 Good tidings and a warning. But most of them turn away so that they hear not. 4 They say: "Our hearts are under veils, (concealed) from that to which thou dost invite us, and in our ears is a deafness, and between us and thee is a screen: so do thou (what thou wilt); for us, we shall do (what we will!)" 5 Say (Prophet Muhammad): 'I am only a human like you, to whom it is revealed that your God is One God. Therefore be straight with Him and ask Him to forgive you. Woe to the idolaters, 6 Those who do not give the obligatory charity, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 Verily those who believe and work righteous works - unto them shall be a hire unceasing. 8
