and We delivered the Children of Israel from the humbling chastisement, 30 at the hands of Pharaoh: he was a tyrant who exceeded all bounds. 31 And We chose them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamin (mankind, and jinns) [during the time of Musa (Moses)] with knowledge, 32 and sent them revelations of which some were a clear trial for them. 33 [Now,] behold, these [people] say indeed: 34 there is nothing beyond our first death; we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring us our fathers, if what you say is true' 36 Are they better than the tribe of Tubba (name of a Yemenite tribal chief) and those who lived before them? We destroyed them. They were criminals. 37 It was not in idle sport that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We did not create them both but with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 The Day of Decision is the appointed time for all. 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to another, nor shall any be helped, 41 Except him on whom Allah has Mercy. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 42
