The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
