The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul will then come to know what it has brought. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and brightening morning, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 where then are you going? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
