The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
