Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 in a garden sublime, 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 Goblets set, 14 And cushions lined up 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 and are not invested with the authority to compel them. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
