The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Woe to every fault-finding back-biter, 1 Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it. 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 3 Nay, he shall be thrown into the Crusher. 4 Would that you understood what that crushing torment is like. 5 (It is) the fire of Allah, kindled, 6 Reaching right into the hearts of men, 7 Lo! it is closed in on them 8 In extending columns. 9
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
