The people of Lut rejected the messengers. 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 "Must you, of all people, [lustfully] approach men, 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted." 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned. 173 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
