The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O you who are clothed! 1 Arise and warn! 2 And your Lord (Allah) magnify! 3 And your clothing purify 4 stay away from sins 5 And bestow not favour that thou mayest receive more. 6 But, for thy Lord's (Cause), be patient and constant! 7 For when the trumpet blows 8 it will be a hard day 9 Far from easy for the disbelievers. 10 Leave Me with the one I created alone 11 and to whom I have granted resources vast, 12 And sons abiding in his presence 13 And made life smooth and comfortable for him! 14 Yet he desires that I should give more. 15 No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate. 16 Soon will I visit him with a mount of calamities! 17 Lo! He reflected, and determined -- 18 But may he be cursed how he plotted; 19 Again, may he be cursed how he plotted; 20 Then he beheld, 21 then he frowned and scowled, 22 Then he turned away, and was haughty. 23 And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]. 24 "This is nothing but the word of a human being!" 25 I will surely roast him in the Scorching. 26 And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is? 27 It spares not, neither leaves alone 28 it scorches the skin; 29 Over it are nineteen [powers]. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
