The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The believers must (eventually) win through,- 1 those who, in their Prayers, humble themselves; 2 And those who from everything vain turn away. 3 pay their religious tax 4 And who guard their private organs. 5 Except from their wives and women slaves of old are free of blame, 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 and who are faithful to their trusts and to their pledges, 8 and who guard their Prayers. 9 These will be the heirs, 10 These are the heirs of Paradise wherein they will live forever. 11 We created man from the finest extract of clay, 12 Then We placed him as (a drop of) sperm in a place of rest, firmly fixed; 13 We then turned the drop of fluid into a clot of blood, then the clot into a small lump of flesh, then the lump into bones, then covered the bones with flesh; then developed it in a different mould; therefore Most Auspicious is Allah, the Best Creator. 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 And We send down water from the skies in accordance with a measure [set by Us,] and then We cause it to lodge in the earth: but, behold, We are most certainly able to withdraw this [blessing]! 18 Then through water We caused gardens of date-palms and vines to grow for you wherein you have an abundance of delicious fruits and from them you derive your livelihood. 19 also a tree growing on Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat it. 20 And in cattle (too) ye have an instructive example: from within their bodies We produce (milk) for you to drink; there are, in them, (besides), numerous (other) benefits for you; and of their (meat) ye eat; 21 and you ride on them as you do in ships. 22
