And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They said: We worship idols, and are ever devoted unto them. 71 He said, “Do they hear you when you call?” 72 “Or do they benefit you or harm you?” 73 They exclaimed: But we found our forefathers doing the same!" 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 "Ye and your fathers before you?- 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 Who created me, and He doth guide me, 78 It is He who gives me food and drink 79 and Who, when I am ill, heals me; 80 who makes me to die, then gives me life, 81 and He who will, I hope, forgive me my faults on the Day of the Judgement. 82 My Lord, bestow wisdom upon me; unite me with the righteous; 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Paradise of Delight; 85 And forgive my father, for surely he is of those who have gone astray; 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 the day when neither wealth nor sons shall profit 88 except what is done in obedience to God with a submissive heart. 89 And Paradise shall be brought forward for the godfearing, 90 And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators, 91 who will be asked, "What did you worship 92 besides God? Can they help you or even help themselves?" 93 Then they shall be hurled therein, they and the seduced ones. 94 And the soldiers of Iblees, all together. 95 They will dispute between themselves therein, and will say, 96 they will say, "By God, we were in clear error 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 It was nothing but the evildoers who led us astray. 99 Now we have no intercessors, 100 Nor a true friend; 101 If we could only return to the world and be among the believers." 102 Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
