Now, behold, this [divine writ] has indeed been bestowed from on high by the Sustainer of all the worlds: 192 Which the trusted spirit descended with 193 upon your heart (Prophet Muhammad), in order to be one of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. 196 Was it not a proof for them that the learned men of Israel knew about this? 197 If We had sent it down on a barbarian 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty; 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved? 203 Do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 But hast thou ever considered [this]: If We do allow them to enjoy [this life] for some years, 205 and then Our torment will strike them, 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 We have never been unjust to anyone. 209 And [this divine writ is such a reminder:] no evil spirits have brought it down: 210 neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, 211 Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing. 212 So call not upon another god with Allah, lest you be of those who are punished. 213 And warn your tribe (O Muhammad SAW) of near kindred. 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 Then if they disobey you say to them: "I am quit of what you do." 216 Put thy trust in the All-mighty, the All-compassionate 217 who can see whether you stand up 218 And thy movements among those who prostrate themselves, 219 He is all-hearing and all-knowing. 220 Should I tell you on whom the devils descend? 221 They come to every sinful liar. 222 They give ear, but most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, the erring follow them, 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 And that they say what they do not do? - 226 Except those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds, and remember Allah much, and reply back (in poetry) to the unjust poetry (which the pagan poets utter against the Muslims). And those who do wrong will come to know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
