Hizb 46

Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 The fish then swallowed him and he blamed himself. (For not waiting for Allah’s command.) 142 Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick, 145 and caused a gourd tree to grow over him, 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?- 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Is it not that they say, from their own invention, 151 “Allah has begotten.” They are liars! 152 Has He (then) chosen daughters rather than sons? 153 What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement? 154 Do you not understand? 155 Do you have any clear authority for such claims? 156 Bring your Book, if you speak truly! 157 And they assert a relationship between Him and the jinn; and certainly the jinn do know that they shall surely be brought up; 158 (They say): “Exalted be Allah above what they attribute to Him, 159 Except the slaves of Allah, whom He choses (for His Mercy i.e. true believers of Islamic Monotheism who do not attribute false things unto Allah). 160 Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.) 161 Not against Him can you cause (any) to fall into trial, 162 Except the one who will go into the blazing fire. 163 None of us is there, but has a known station; 164 “And indeed we, with our wings spread, await the command.” 165 Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise 166 AND, INDEED, they [who deny the truth] have always been wont to say, 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 They have rejected the Quran. They will soon know the consequences (of their disbelief). 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 That they verily would be helped, 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 And watch them (how they fare), and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned. 177 And turn thou aside from them for a season. 178 And see, for they are going to see. 179 Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! 180 and peace be upon the Messengers, 181 And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
