۞ When the son of Mary was mentioned as an example, you people cried out in protest, saying, 57 and say: 'What, are our gods better, or is he?' They do not mention him to you except to dispute, truly, they are a contentious nation. 58 He is only a servant We blessed, and We made him to be an example to the Children of Israel. 59 If We had so willed We could have made some of you into angels to become your successors on earth. 60 AND, BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a means to know [that] the Last Hour [is bound to come]; hence, have no doubt whatever about it, but follow Me: this [alone] is a straight way. 61 do not let Satan bar your way. He is truly your sworn enemy. 62 And when Isa came with clear arguments he said: I have come to you indeed with wisdom, and that I may make clear to you part of what you differ in; so be careful of (your duty to) Allah and obey me: 63 Verily Allah! He is my lord and your Lord, so worship Him: this is the straight path. 64 But the sects from among themselves differed. So woe to those who do wrong (by ascribing things to 'Iesa (Jesus) that are not true) from the torment of a painful Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 65 Are they looking for anything except the Hour (to overtake them). It will come upon them suddenly when they are unaware! 66 On that Day, friends will become each other's enemies, except the righteous -- 67
