O Ye who believe! devour not usury, multiplied manifold; and fear Allah, haply ye may fare well. 130 and beware of the fire which awaits those who deny the truth! 131 and obey God and the Messenger, so that you may be given mercy. 132 ۞ And vie with one another for your Lord's forgiveness and for a Paradise as vast as the heavens and the earth, which has been prepared for the God-fearing, 133 who spend their property for the cause of God in prosperity as well as in adversity and who also harness their anger and forgive the people. God loves the righteous ones. 134 (Paradise) is also for those who, when committing a sin or doing injustice to themselves, remember God and ask Him to forgive their sins. Who can forgive sins besides God? And who do not knowingly persist in their mistakes? 135 Those -- their recompense is forgiveness from their Lord, and gardens beneath which rivers flow, therein dwelling forever; and how excellent is the wage of those who labour! 136 Some traditions have been tried before you – therefore travel in the land and see what sort of fate befell those who denied. 137 This is a clear statement for men, and a guidance and an admonition to those who guard (against evil). 138 Do not, then, either lose heart or grieve: for you shall surely gain the upper hand if you are true men of faith. 139 If a wound should touch you - there has already touched the [opposing] people a wound similar to it. And these days [of varying conditions] We alternate among the people so that Allah may make evident those who believe and [may] take to Himself from among you martyrs - and Allah does not like the wrongdoers - 140 and so that Allah will examine those who believe and efface the unbelievers. 141 Do you think you will go to Paradise while God does not know who among you strive and persist? 142 Ye did indeed wish for death before ye met him: Now ye have seen him with your own eyes, (And ye flinch!) 143
