Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 And We let it remain upon him in the latter: 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 80 Surely he was one of Our truly believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the others 82 ۞ And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 and asked his father and his people, "What is that you worship? 85 It is falsehood that you desire gods other than Allah! 86 "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars, 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What ails you, that you speak not?' 92 And then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 He said, “What! You worship what you yourselves have sculpted?” 95 while it is Allah Who has created you and all that you make?” 96 They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!” 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 And he said: verily I am going to my Lord who will guide me. 99 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 When both surrendered (to Allah's command) and Abraham flung the son down on his forehead, 103 We called out: "O Abraham, 104 you have confirmed your vision' As such We recompense the gooddoers. 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 We gave him the glad news of the birth of Isaac, one of the righteous Prophets. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself. 113
