And indeed, We delivered the children of Israel from the shameful suffering 30 From Fir'aun (Pharaoh); Verily! He was arrogant and was of the Musrifun (those who transgress beyond bound in spending and other things and commit great sins). 31 We gave preference to the Israelites over the other people with Our knowledge 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Yet these say: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 So bring our ancestors back, if you are truthful." 36 What! Are they better than the people of Tubba and those who were before them? We destroyed them because they were guilty of sin. 37 We created not the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, in play; 38 We did not create them except in Truth. But most of them do not know. 39 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] is the term appointed for all of them: 40 The day on which a friend shall not avail (his) friend aught, nor shall they be helped, 41 save those upon whom God will have bestowed His grace and mercy: for, verily, He alone is almighty, a dispenser of grace. 42
