No, by the moon! 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 it is a warning to man, 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 About the guilty: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
