The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
