Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a high Garden. 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 and couches raised high, 13 And cups set at hand. 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
