And the king said, “I saw in a dream seven healthy cows whom seven lean cows were eating, and seven green ears of corn and seven others dry; O court-members! Explain my dream, if you can interpret dreams.” 43 They said: 'They are confused nightmares, nor do we know anything of the interpretation of visions' 44 The man who was in prison with Joseph and who was released, recalled after so many years Joseph's (ability to interpret dreams) and said, "I can tell you the meaning of this dream if you allow me to go (to the prison and ask the man who knows the meanings of dreams)." 45 Yusuf! O truthful one! explain to us seven fat kine which seven lean ones devoured, and seven green ears and (seven) others dry, that I may go back to the people so that they may know. 46 He said: Ye shall sow seven years as usual, but that which ye reap, leave it in the ear, all save a little which ye eat. 47 Then there will follow seven years of great hardship in which you will eat up all you have stored earlier, except the little that you may set aside. 48 "Then will come after that (period) a year in which the people will have abundant water, and in which they will press (wine and oil)." 49
