The Companions of the Rocky Tract also rejected the messengers: 80 And We gave them Our Signs, but they were averse to them. 81 And they used to hew out dwellings from the mountains (feeling themselves) secure. 82 But the shriek seized them at early morning. 83 Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them. 84 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is in between them except with Truth. Surely the Hour will come. So, (O Muhammad), do graciously overlook them (despite their misdeeds). 85 verily, thy Sustainer is the all-knowing Creator of all things! 86 And assuredly We have vouchsafed unto thee seven of the repetitions and the mighty Qur'an. 87 Strain not thine eyes toward that which We cause some wedded pairs among them to enjoin, and be not grieved on their account, and lower thy wing (in tenderness) for the believers. 88 And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner" - 89 Even as We sent down on the dividers 90 who have broken the Koran into fragments. 91 So, by your Lord, We would most certainly question them all, 92 concerning that they were doing. 93 So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters. 94 We suffice thee against the mockers, 95 Who set up along with Allah another ilah (god), they will come to know. 96 And assuredly We know that thou straitenest thy breast by that which they say. 97 Glorify and praise your Lord and be with those who prostrate themselves before God. 98 And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is Certain. 99
