Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
